Introductory Intern

Introductory Intern   While many believe this role is synonymous with Junior Sprout, it indeed is not. Though Junior Sprouts can become Introductory Interns, not all Introductory Interns are Junior Sprouts. Sprouts are introduced to W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. through the educational system as a child or young adult via elementary school, college, university, after school program, or camp.

Qualifications

Interns can come from any walk of life. They can be any age, and they do not have to be introduced to the agency through a secret program at school. Interns have been known to originate as reformed criminals, ex-government agents, rogue spies from rival organizations, rescued individuals from other spies' missions, people who accidentally happened upon W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. or discovered secrets, and even random folks off the street.

Requirements

No matter the origin, each intern is heavily screened and tested with a series of polygraphs and mental exercises before being slowly introduced to elements of the organization. Once trust is established, these interns are thrust into the office where they assist Base Operatives with daily tasks

Duties

When helping Base Operatives out around the office, they can do many random tasks including sharpening pencils, fetching coffee, refilling staplers, making photocopies, working in spreadsheets, monitoring surveillance cameras and audio devices, etc. After some time of doing this, the Interns are often promoted to accompany a Field Agent, going out into the world to do some lurking.

Responsibilities

Interns must remain faithful at all times. Although mistakes are natural and will occasionally be made, a violation of trust is something that will not be tolerated.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If at any point W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. detects a breech of trust, the Intern will be put under watch. Not three strikes, but only two, and you could be at risk of Erasure (or worse). Willowisp does not tolerate traitors.

Notable Holders

An Intern must work hard and prove extremely trustworthy to move up the ranks enough to shadow an Elite Espionage agent. One exception for this was Junior Sprout Stewart Princely, who, after only two years, got his wish to join his hero Someone Elsewood and partner OBLIGATORY ASSOCIATE Constance Harbor on a Christmas mission. This was only permitted because, being the holidays, most other operatives took time off, or were focused on missions that were not appropriate for a fourteen-year-old. While most students would have had to wait until after the holiday, Stewart's interest and intense studying of Someone drove Commander McCox to give him a chance.
