Algenates

  Algenates are the special operatives tasked to guard Albitrunca. Though many are uncertain about what lies in the underground areas, there is apparently a lot to keep track of. This is why there is an entire force dedicated to this project. The company does not want just any employee or operative to have access to what lies within Albitrunca, for the safety of the workers, the security of what is being kept, and the safety of the agency. Only specialized personell have access to what lies within the secret corridors, and even many of them do not fully understand or comprehend the breadth of what can be found there, neither do they realize its significance.
  The Algenates have a special task to protect the Albitrunca and all that lies within. This is an even further step from the normal Security Guards who patrol the W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. headquarters premises normally. These individuals are privy to more information, even though many are not aware of everything. It is imperitive that they are informed of some of the dangers and secrets due to the fact that they also must make sure that unauthorized personnel do not enter without permission, and prisoners and other things do not escape from the containment facilities.
    While W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. refuses to confirm or deny the presence of prisoners, dangerous species, androids, experimental technology, and other things being present in Albitrunca, it is widely assumed that many such things are located there. The Algenates are also trained on how to behave when Junior Sprouts and other student agents are working their way through the maze. In addition, they are taught how to navigate through the area and learn the necessary codes to be sure what the labeling on containers and holding cells means. To navigate, there are also several logic puzzles and other passage blocks that require knowledgable input input to prevent other beings from escaping from or enterting the facility.
  The Algenates must agree to confidentiality when working on this project and are careful not to reveal too much information even to other coworkers at the company. It is rumored that some Algenates have slipped information, hence the present rumors, but they are no longer working at the company. They were supposedly transferred, or their disappearance is blamed on some other unrelated circumstance, but many people suspect this is due to them spilling secrets when the company previously advised them not to.
