Security Guards
An often undervalued but vital profession.Though many see the Agents as the heroes, stationed security guards are the lifeforce driving W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P.. They are in place to protect every aspect of the organization from being exposed to the public, responsible for concealing data withheld from governments, keeping confiscated items on lockdown, imprisoning dangerous criminals, and sheltering the most vulnerable workings in process. These Security Guards not only protect physical property, but also patrol the Cyber Sector; monitoring online databases, preventing security breeches, and making sure that everything is functioning properly.-Dimi & Janet
Career
Qualifications
To be hired as a W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. Security Guard on any front, you must display vast knowledge in the area of security, sharp attention to detail, swift reflexes, and calmness under pressure.
Perception
Social Status
Many people around the office feel that the Security Guards have it easy. They believe they are being paid to sit around and do nothing. Most of this is due to the fact that hardly any severe security breeches occur at W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. facilities. Many personnel in other divisions think that there should be less guards because there are not many threats, instead of considering that there could possibly be many threats and attributing the lack of successful breeches to the fact that the guards are properly carrying out their assignments.
Demographics
There are numerous WILLOWISP Security Guards, significantly more than there are field agents and even base operatives, These guards are needed to make sure W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P.'s private information stays private, the public stays out, and the prisoners stay in, among other similar tasks.
Guards are stationed all over the world assigned with countless things to protect. While it is true that there are some calm moments, no security guard is ever taken for granted by the company and all of them are well compensated for their time and service despite the whispers around the office.
History
There have always been Security Guards at W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P., although in the beginning, they used to double as agents on other shifts. The organization has since created more positions and hired full-time guards so that no security risks would be taken. As technology advanced, so did the Guards, and more roles were added for the Cyber Sector's security.
Commander McCox Gives Newbies the Rundown: You think I get paid to have fun sitting in a swivel chair all day at a nice desk talking to people about random stuff... ...well, technically I do. But there's much more to my job than that. I have to do research, dispatch agents, keep tabs on what's happening around the office, and be in constant contact with operatives all over the world. That's a Commander for you. Now, the security guards on the other hand... that's a position that pays you to sit down and do absolutely nothing. I know that we have a breech every now and again and whatnot, but, really? They need to give those people some tasks to do while they're waiting or something because half the time I see a Guard, if I even see them, they are sitting on their butts doing absolutely nothing. And, maybe I can see the ones at the Prison Island or even the ones here around base, but those folks staring at the computer screen 24/7/365... now they might as well be playing videogames sitting on their mother's basement couch. You really think we get that many cyber threats a day? I mean, come on. We have too many guards doing nothing around here. I don't doubt their apparent talent and skills, but when will they ever have time to display it? Strap them on a badge and throw 'em out into the field! ....maybe I shouldn't suggest that. The moment a breech occurs and all the guards are out or distracted, they'll be looking at me like it's my fault. I guess those kiddos are doing what they need to do. I appreciate them.
