Take Every Vacation You Can Get

incomplete article submitted on a WORLDEMBER speedrun! thank you for your patience

Here at W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P., we are devoted to providing a healthy work environment for all employees. We know also that this means allowing said employees time away from the wonderful work environment we have facilitated for the sake of your own health and personal desire.   Multiple opportunities are provided for our operatives to enjoy leisure time. We also invite workers to stay at the various resort locations our company has established around the world, though this is not a requirement.   If you choose to continue work instead of taking vacation, you will be rewarded with various perks including increased pay and customized accommodations. These incentives are available to ensure that our agency can continue running even while some of the workforce is absent. it should, in no way, be thought of as an encouragement to ignore your own wellfare needs.   -an email from W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. Commander McCox gives newbies the rundown:   Ah...the holiday season...
...or any season, for that matter, that W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. allows you to take a holiday...
It can be nice to have a moment away from all the danger, excitement, hubbub and, in some cases, boring monotony, of the job. A lot of agents follow an old saying around here that you should take absolutely every break the company allows. Some say it's because you never know when it will be offered again. Some say it's because if you don't, you may go crazy letting this spy life get to you.
I think work/life balance is important, and I encourage others to take off when they can, but I sure as heck appreciate the ones who stay around. Just because the holidays come around doesn't mean the jobs don't stop coming in. Elsewood has NEVER abided by this rule. I don't think he has need for work/life balance. This work IS his life, and the 'going stir crazy' thing? I don't think it's possible for that guy to get any more crazy than he already is. He seems to be more bugged when he's bored with nothing to do than when he has a lot of work on his plate. He finds it as a challenge, I guess. It is his livelihood.
But, enough about him. I also appreciate the folks that keep ME company around the office, like those Holiday Interns who fetch coffee and cookies and stand around to engage in intriguing conversations. A lot of them seem to avoid me, and I hear rumors of "that Commander guy sure goes on a lot of tangents"--WHICH I DON'T. All the things I talk about make perfect sense and go together. Just because it seems like I'm diverting off the main topic doesn't mean I've forgotten what the original subject was.
  ....wait...
Um....what were we talking about again? Oh. Taking vacations from work.
So, maybe I do go on tangents sometimes. Only a little. But Princely doesn't seem to mind. He will listen and talk for hours upon hours. Lemme tell you; sometimes, I have to kick that poor kid out. If I do go on tangents, I think he has me beat.
