Take Every Vacation You Can Get

Here at W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P., we are devoted to providing a healthy work environment for all employees. We know also that this means allowing said employees time away from the wonderful work environment we have facilitated for the sake of your own health and personal desire.   Multiple opportunities are provided for our operatives to enjoy leisure time. We also invite workers to stay at the various resort locations our company has established around the world, though this is not a requirement.   If you choose to continue work instead of taking vacation, you will be rewarded with various perks including increased pay and customized accommodations. These incentives are available to ensure that our agency can continue running even while some of the workforce is absent. it should, in no way, be thought of as an encouragement to ignore your own wellfare needs.

"The pay is good, but not that good. When they let you take a day off, take the day off. Or two. Or three. You never know when it might be your last. You gotta enjoy life, ya know?"

"I appreciate the little time that I get away from W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P.. Yeah, the thrill of the job is fun, but when you're always in danger, and have a partner who is crazy, it's good to step away and have a little bit of me time."

"Day off?? What's that?! Around the holidays, I am always sure to get out of this boring workplace and whisk myself away on an incredibly electrifying mission. All the other top guns want to take time off, but W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. knows that I NEVER take time off. Missions throw themselves at me left and right like Christmas presents. I always choose the ones with the highest stakes, the baddest criminals, and the funnest fun. Every once in a while, I get a little greedy and take all the missions. Nobody ever seems to mind."

Commander McCox gives newbies the rundown:   Ah...the holiday season...
...or any season, for that matter, that W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. allows you to take a holiday...
It can be nice to have a moment away from all the danger, excitement, hubbub and, in some cases, boring monotony, of the job. A lot of agents follow an old saying around here that you should take absolutely every break the company allows. Some say it's because you never know when it will be offered again. Some say it's because if you don't, you may go crazy letting this spy life get to you.
I think work/life balance is important, and I encourage others to take off when they can, but I sure as heck appreciate the ones who stay around. Just because the holidays come around doesn't mean the jobs don't stop coming in. Elsewood has NEVER abided by this rule. I don't think he has need for work/life balance. This work IS his life, and the 'going stir crazy' thing? I don't think it's possible for that guy to get any more crazy than he already is. He seems to be more bugged when he's bored with nothing to do than when he has a lot of work on his plate. He finds it as a challenge, I guess. It is his livelihood.
But, enough about him. I also appreciate the folks that keep ME company around the office, like those Holiday Interns who fetch coffee and cookies and stand around to engage in intriguing conversations. A lot of them seem to avoid me, and I hear rumors of "that Commander guy sure goes on a lot of tangents"--WHICH I DON'T. All the things I talk about make perfect sense and go together. Just because it seems like I'm diverting off the main topic doesn't mean I've forgotten what the original subject was.
  ....wait...
Um....what were we talking about again? Oh. Taking vacations from work.
So, maybe I do go on tangents sometimes. Only a little. But Princely doesn't seem to mind. He will listen and talk for hours upon hours. Lemme tell you; sometimes, I have to kick that poor kid out. If I do go on tangents, I think he has me beat.

So you're making a surprise vacation to Northern Ireland then.

Someone? I'll be keeping an eye out for someone suspicious hanging around, lol.

Of course nobody minds, Someone, that means they can go on vacation while you enjoy "your presents" :)   When Commander starts talking about how they might go crazy due to the spy life, I was already thinking "unless it's already late for you", so I felt like a mind reader when I read what he says about Someone hahaha.   I love that Stewart is okay with all those tangents... Because it isn't just in Commander's mind, is it?

lol your observations about my article and the characters always make me smile. :D Thanks for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed! <3   (and, yes. though Stewart is aware that Commander can talk a lot, he also talks a lot and appreciates their conversations XP)

This article is great. As someone who works for an organization where people either just don't take leave, or can't because of missions and being short staffed, I wish we had compensation for not taking leave. Though it would probably turn into a decent chunk of our budget, ha.

Vacation? Don't remember the last time I really had any vacation. Whenever I tried, suddenly a phone call or a self-destructing chocolate message arrived, telling me that there's just a itty bitty little thing to do in my holiday spot. Of course, they always say it is just a little, even tiny, diversion from my days off... but in the end, I am piloting an exotic vehicle fully loaded with nitroglycerin on a bumpy road while shooting bad guys left and right.
But okay, to be honest, once the job is done and the last of them drops dead with a bullet between his eyes while their vehicles, plants, and nuclear weapon depots are burning, there is this sweet moment of relief and inner peace. I think that is all the vacation I need, and I am afraid the higher-ups know that...
