Planet Earth

The planet that you and I live on...

...or, perhaps, you are from someplace else. Sorry for assuming.

Earth, the planet, is home to all known life. Earth is the only habitable planet. Earth has a way of protecting itself naturally. When things threaten to destroy it, Earth repairs itself. Earth often requires assistance in doing this, however. Many irresponsible and uncaring Humans unfortunately contribute daily to its demise by littering, being wasteful, and increasing the likelihood of the phenomena known as Natural Disasters. As responsible Humans, we must do our part in helping to conserve the Earth by reducing, reusing, and recycling. As you may know, W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. goes a step beyond this. The agency's operatives are frequently given mission directives to protect the Earth and its lifeforms. We are all Earth's lifeforms. We must take care of our fellow lifeforms, be they plants, animals, or Humans, like us.

Remember: They're all humans. Got it?

Commander McCox gives newbies the rundown:   Planet Earth. This vast planet that we're all from. Well, you might not be from there, but you likely are. Nobody has ever found life anywhere else. If they say they have, those are rumors and they're not true. Conspiracy theorists and all that stuff. Tinfoil hat guys. Crazy lunatics who think they can be abducted by aliens and crap. That's a bunch of hogwash.   You know, if aliens did exist though, they seem like they might be pretty cool. They'd be scary though, for sure. Especially if they had powers and stuff, like the movies. But they don't. Cause they don't exist. Because W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. has eyes everywher; on the ground and even in space. If aliens existed, they'd be the first to know. And they'd tell us. Right?   ...they'd definitely tell us...

Hey, I live there!   I really like how McCox's seriousness at the beginning of the quote devolves into doubt at the end. Very fun to read.

I think I know this planet, might've visited it not so long ago... Anyway, I found it extremely immersive. The "...they'd definitely tell us..." had me the most. This read was an experience and it was an amazing one.
