The Dark Room
Within Fallington Stacks' Penthouse39 exist several rooms meant for training agents and helping them to practice for certain tasks out in the field. Each room has its own obstacles and challenges within it. Some of the rooms seem normal but have hidden compartments and trials within them, while other rooms outwardly appear odd because they are made for a very specific use.
The Dark Room in Fallington Stacks' Penthouse has little to no lighting and is reminiscent of a laser tag arena. There are several walls and obstacles to hide behind. Many trials can be hosted in this room. There are often practice missions very similar to a game of laser tag where each participant must attempt to capture, blast, or incapacitate their opponents all while protecting themselves and staying out of danger.
Test weaponry is said to be provided to operatives during one of the games held in this room. Fallington assures everyone that it is only training, but encourages everyone to be ruthless as if they are out in the field and to trust no one, not even the agents they are partnered with as a team.
The dark room seems simple enough, but things get complicated because walls are known to shift around and relocate using mechanical devices built into the walls. Sometimes, secret doorways also open up that were not there before. If you have your back to the wall, the wall just may go up and expose you to another opposing operative so that they can take aim at you. Sometimes, also, if you try to go into a secret cove or corner of the room and hide, you may find that the entrance closes up and you might not know how to escape. The room will eventually shift back, but it is unknown how or when this will happen. The room is a very trickly shifting ground to play in as also, sometimes the floor will open up in different psots, causing people who are playing to fall into an unknown location.
There are rumors of participants being lost permanently in the dark room, but Fallington assures all players that everything is safe, making up some sort of excuse why the players have not been seen again since the trial, saying they chose to leave or that they were called back away by their agency. Some of the other operatives seem to believe this story while others are not convinced.
The Dark Room seems quiet and still enough, but when the walls begin to shift, things can become disorienting. Some people believe the room is smaller than it appears but only seems large due to the shifting walls, while others think the room is actually bigger than it seems but the walls make it appear to be smaller. No one has ever seen the room in the light. All the surfaces of every floor, wall, obstacle, and ceiling are black and, unlike the laser tag areas, there are no splotches of luminescent paint livening up the place or making it easier to see.
