Diffuser Flowers

Most of the flowers planted around the Trelis District, especially throughout The Gardens, are plain and what you would expect from any normal park, but there are a few intentionally bred plants on the premises. some of these hybrids encourage behaviors from students. in rest areas, species are planted that encourage calm tranquility. In study rooms, fragrances that foster attentiveness and concentration abound.   These plants help to decorate the place visibly and atmospherically.   Inspired by essential oils, Scientists were instructed to develop living plants that emit the sensory stimulants required for an optimally productive day on campus. These plants can be found all over the Trelis District. Within classrooms, lunchrooms, dorm rooms, rest areas, and even training facilities.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

The plants have been crafted in the lab from similar plants and are able to reproduce with seeds and whatever means the original plants that the hybrid consists of.

Growth Rate & Stages

Due to the varying nature of the plants, many of these flowers grow at different rates. At the mature stage, the plants' scents should be more elevated.

Ecology and Habitats

The plants are specially crafted to thrive in the enviroments they are most needed in. Some focus plants are bred to be indoor plants so that they may survive for a long time within classrooms, while plants that encourage relaxation and tranquility are bred to be able to go for long periods in dark and shaded areas, not requiring much sunlight for growth.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Depending on which plants compose the hybrid, some of these will require more specific attention and

Behaviour

In addition to enhancing the scented landscape of each area they inhabit, these plants are also trained to sense when there is an increase in oxygen intake in the area so that they may produce enough fragrence for all needed individuals to experience its effects.

Most Diffuser Flowers are a hybrid

between any mix of the following plants:

  Chamomile (stress reduction)
Sage (relaxation)
Lavender (tranquility)

Rosemary (focus)
Orange (anxiety curbing)

Commander McCox gives newbies the rundown:   Have you ever noticed how nice it smells over in the Trelis District? If you ever take a minute to walk through there, all the plants are so alive with fragrance! It's so inspiring. It almost makes me wish I was back in school. But, the truth is, you don't need to go back to school in order to have some encouraging smells around. If you try and ask around, you may be able to get a real Diffuser Flower for yourself.   I hear the scientists only let a few operatives test them out in their own personal spaces. The rest are to stay on school campus at all times. They allowed me to have a couple of them in my office for a hot minute. I'll admit, they did smell a little funky. I don't think those Sci Guys tweaked the plants enough. But, after a couple of trials and some input on my experience with the flowers they let me test, I guess they were able to come up with some better prototypes.   They let me try another one after that, but it started making me fall asleep on the job so I sent it back. Got some really good sleep, though. Those things really work!

Allthough this article has an unfinished paragraph, I still really love the idea of bred flowers that help you to focus or sleep. Having one of those in my bedroom or my office would help me a lot. I mean, they would most likely die within the first month of my ownership, due to a so called black-thumb, but one can always try. A picture of at least one kind would have been nice, especially as I can't really imagine how a hybrid between chamomile and lavender would look like.
