General

The General is the highest ranking officer that an average Agent or Operative will typically ever meet face to face (or even see in passing) for their entire tenure at the organization. Most higher-ups are extremely secretive, not revealing much about their names, ranks, positions, or even goings on. The important messages and information is passed on to the agents through Commanders who receive their intel from Generals.

Requirements

All Generals must be firm and direct. They must know how to target unwanted behaviors and put an end to them before they fester out of control. A stern attitude and a focused drive towards greatness is valued in those who hold the position. They are tasked to keep everybody in check and essentially be the face of W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P.; for these are the highest ranking folks that most operatives will ever meet.

Appointment

The process of hiring Generals and above is not well known among the normal tiers of W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. operatives. Generals are often introduced once and may never be seen again. This could be because they are being transferred to a different department, or they could have possibly been discharged. No one can tell and none dare ask.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

As with all W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. positions, Erasure is rumored to await those who disobey the agency's protocols. However, normal operatives hardly hear of the dismissal of anyone above their own ranks. Even if a General is thought to have been terminated, most agents don't have the permissions to view the files and see the current status of the higher-ups. In rare cases, a file may be marked "MIA" (Missing In Action) etc, although Generals usually don't go out and get much action, so the displayed status is not always believed.

Cultural Significance

A general is generally not one an agent desires to see. Commanders are more like teachers. Generals are more like principals; if you see them, either your force has had an overwhelmingly incredible season invoking the General to come down and acknowledge the positive actions in person, an important process has been changed and the General is making an appearance to amplify the severity of the situation, or, somebody's in trouble.
